Matthieu was born in Besançon (France) in 1996. He grew up in a musician family, his parents being both authors and composers, as well as music teachers. He started learning the classical guitar at the age of 6 and carried on with electric guitar a few years later. He had the chance to be invited by Steve Lukather to play with Toto in a show in Metz (France) in 2007.

After attending Pontarlier's academy of music, he began the pre-professional section at EJMA (School of Jazz and Actual Music) in Lausanne (Switzerland). At the age of 17 years old, he entered the HEMU (University of Modern Music in Lausanne) where he took lessons with Francis Coletta and Vinz Volanthen. He is currently in the second year of his Master degree.

Throughout his studies, Matthieu has been part of many projects; like MARIE, Tribute Animals As Leaders, Down To The Bunker and DYLEM.

He has also been giving music and guitar lessons since 2009 and was hired as a teach in the Carlines School in Vallorbe (Switzerland) in 2012.
